Elder Michael Johnson, Pastor and Founder of Faith Power & Deliverance Ministries grew up in South Central Los Angeles. He spent his high school years in Glen Cove, New York and received formal education at Florida A&M University. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 20 years in 1997. Pastor Johnson received his calling from the Lord in 1985 while attending the Power House of Deliverance Church in Charleston, South Carolina, under the leadership of Pastor Jerald Fordham. He was licensed in 1989 by the Late Bishop J.H. Covington, founder of The Power House of Deliverance Churches, Inc and ordained by Pastor Fordham in 1993. While at Power House he served as Sunday School Superintendent and also established a nursing home ministry at the Driftwood Nursing Home, where he became well liked by the staff and residents for the weekly Sunday evening service in the chapel at the home. He has ministered the gospel in Okinawa, Japan where the Lord used him greatly under the leadership of Bishop Jerlette Mickie. While there he served as Lead Associate Elder and Sunday School Superintendent at Bibleway Evangelistic Temple. He Pastored the Chapel Gospel Service at King Abdul Aziz Air Base in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in 1996, where many souls were saved and baptized in a country where serving Christ is not allowed. He also pastored St. Paul Church of God in Christ in Roswell, New Mexico under the leadership of Bishop W.C. Green, State Prelate of the Churches of God in Christ New Mexico. He spent three years at New Bethel Church of God in Christ in Charlotte, North Carolina under Superintendent Tommie A. Murphy. While at New Bethel he taught a ministers course and general bible courses at the New Bethel Bible Institute, which is a satellite of The Eastern Bible Institute in Irvington, New Jersey. The Lord has used him greatly in the area of teaching, evangelism, and deliverance.
It was also in Okinawa in 1995 that the Lord gave him a vision to go to Charlotte, North Carolina to begin a ministry in the city that he lived before giving his life to the Lord. The ministry name given by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost is based on Acts 6:8 "And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people".

Pastor Johnson has been married for over 20 years to the former Eileen Fitzgerald, who is a Missionary and a mighty woman of God. They have two children, Micah age 15 and Ashley age 12.
